The calculators run entirely in your browser
Calculations use JavaScript on your own device. BaleMath has no accounts, logins or database for saving your plans. Shared plan links, links between calculators and language links carrying a valid calculation can include entered values in the URL. Opening such a link sends its URL to the hosting provider as part of the page request; it may be processed in the delivery and security logs described below. URLs can also remain in browser history, bookmarks or copied messages, and anyone with a plan link can read its values. Closing a tab does not delete those copies. Avoid including information you do not want to share in plan links.
If you explicitly choose a measurement system or currency, BaleMath stores those presentation choices in your browser under balemath.preferences.v1. The record contains only the selected unit system and currency. It stays on your device, is never sent to BaleMath, and does not contain calculator inputs, results, identifiers, or analytics data. You can remove it through your browser’s site-data settings.
Data we process ourselves
Server logs. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver and secure the site, Cloudflare processes limited request and security data such as your IP address, the URL requested, browser or device information, traffic-routing data, and timestamps. This happens for site delivery, security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site online and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). BaleMath does not use this data to identify visitors and does not export or keep its own visitor-log dataset. Cloudflare applies retention according to its service configuration and policies. BaleMath is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so this provider-side delivery and security logging is handled by Cloudflare under its own documentation and policies.
Fonts and styles are served from our domain. Cloudflare also provides the limited audience and performance measurement described below. We do not load advertising services or email signup tools.
Cookieless audience and performance statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which public pages are visited, how visitors reach them, broad country, browser and device categories, and page performance. We use aggregate reports only to improve BaleMath. We do not use these statistics for advertising, profiling, identifying individuals or tracking people across websites.
Cloudflare states that this service uses no analytics cookies, local-storage identifiers or fingerprinting. Browser requests still pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Our analytics integration sends no calculator field values or results. Query strings and fragments are excluded from Cloudflare's reported URLs. We additionally skip pages with fragments, calculator values or unrecognised URL parameters, and pages reached from a same-site URL containing those elements. Short campaign labels are allowed, but are not included in the analytics reports. Legal and winter-summary pages are not measured.
No consent popup is shown for this limited statistical measurement. Where personal data is processed for it, our stated GDPR basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object using the free control below. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. All calculators work when analytics is off.
If you turn analytics off, we store only the value 1 under balemath.analytics.off.v1 in this browser's local storage to remember your objection. It contains no identity, calculator data or visit history and is not transmitted. Allowing analytics again removes that record. Clearing site data also removes the choice.
This choice applies to new page loads on all BaleMath languages in this browser. Reload any other BaleMath tabs already open. Existing aggregate counts cannot be linked to you or removed individually.
No email collection at launch
BaleMath does not currently provide an email signup or submission form, so it does not collect or store email addresses through the site.
Cookies
BaleMath sets no analytics or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set necessary security cookies to deliver or protect the site. The browser preferences and analytics choice are described in our cookie policy.
International transfers
Cloudflare, Inc. is a U.S.-based global provider. Delivery, security and analytics requests may be processed outside the EEA. Cloudflare describes its international-transfer safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and its Data Privacy Framework certification, in its privacy policy. Cookieless measurement does not itself remove international-transfer obligations.
How long data is kept
BaleMath does not keep a database of calculator inputs or results, email signup records or exported visitor logs. Cloudflare makes Web Analytics reports available for up to six months. Provider-side delivery and security data follow Cloudflare's separate retention policies. The analytics-off preference stays in your browser until you remove it or allow analytics again.
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of what happened before. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Write to [email protected] to exercise these rights or ask about processing. Aggregate analytics reports do not provide a way to look up a particular visitor. You can prevent future measurement using the control above.
Children
BaleMath is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we add a tool or a service that changes how data is handled, we will update this page before it ships and change the date below.
